West Wyoming Resident Makes DeSales University Spring 2022 Dean’s List
CENTER VALLEY — Brenna L. Johnson, a resident of West Wyoming and majoring in dance, made the Spring 2022 Dean’s List at DeSales University. To qualify for Dean’s List, a student must have a minimum 3.50 GPA on no fewer than 12 credit hours.
DeSales University, in Center Valley, PA, is a private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts Salesian, Catholic university, under the leadership of the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales. Founded in 1965, the 550-acre suburban campus is located 50 miles north of Philadelphia and about 90 miles southwest of New York City. A total enrollment of nearly 3,500 includes undergraduate day and evening students, and graduate students. DeSales has approximately 135 full-time faculty members and offers more than 40 bachelor’s degrees, twelve graduate programs, and over 20 certificate programs in a wide range of disciplines; many of these can be completed fully online.
Local Residents Named to The University of Scranton Spring 2022 Dean’s List
SCRANTON, PA (06/17/2022)— Local residents were among than 1,700 students named to The University of Scranton’s Dean’s List for the 2022 spring semester. The Dean’s List recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the Dean’s List. WILKES-BARRE — Gianna DeSanto of Duryea, was named to the Dean’s List at Wilkes University for the spring 2022 semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, students must obtain a minimum 3.5 grade point average and carry at least 12 credits.

BETHLEHEM — During Commencement ceremonies in May 2022, Lehigh University conferred 1,092 Bachelor’s degrees, 394 Master’s degrees and 33 Doctoral degrees. Of the more than 1,500 graduates, degree recipients came from 41 states and 42 countries outside of the United States.

Philip Cocco of Pittston Among Outstanding Graduates Recognized at University of Scranton
SCRANTON — Philip J. Cocco of Pittston was among the 62 members of The University of Scranton’s undergraduate class of 2022 honored for academic excellence, service or both at a Class Night ceremony on campus May 20.
Students with the highest GPA in each of the University’s three undergraduate colleges were presented Frank J. O’Hara Awards for General Academic Excellence, a memorial to the late administrator who served the University for 53 years.
Class of 2022 O’Hara Award recipients were: Marissa Emily Angelo, Dickson City, for the Kania School of Management; Stephanie Michele Hoffmann, Staten Island, New York, for the Panuska College of Professional Studies; and Sarah Veronica White, Brooklyn, New York, for the College of Arts and Sciences.
Also recognized at the ceremony were two members of the class of 2022 who received prestigious student Fulbright Awards. Peter Anthony Amicucci, Poughquag, New York, won a Fulbright-Lappeeranta University of Technology Graduate Award to Finland, and Crysta O’Donnell, Riegelsville, won an English Teaching Assistantship to Andorra.
Cocco, recipient of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants Award, earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor in finance. He was member of the Kania School Business Honors Program and the Business Leadership Honors Program. He has also been inducted into the Alpha Sigma Nu, Beta Gamma Sigma, Beta Alpha Psi and Omicron Delta Epsilon honor societies. He was a member of the Society of Accounting Students, the IMA Student Chapter and PRISM. He also served as a Resident Assistant. He plans to sit for the CPA exam and complete his MBA at The University of Scranton. He graduated from Pittston Area High School in Yatesville, Pennsylvania.
Moravian University names Dean’s Honors List for Spring 2022
BETHLEHEM — Moravian University named 740 students to the Dean’s Honor List for the Spring 2022 semester. Antonio Zyats of Pittston makes Dean’s List at RIT
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Antonio Zyats of Pittston was named to the Dean’s List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the Spring 2022 Semester. Zyats is in the ASL-English interpretation program.
Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean’s List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete,” “D” or “F”; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Ryan Petrucci Named to Middle Atlantic Conference Academic Honor Roll
ANNVILLE — Ryan Petrucci of West Wyoming, was one of more than 250 Lebanon Valley College student-athletes to be named to the Middle Atlantic Conference’s (MAC) Winter & Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Petrucci, a graduate of Wyoming Area High School, is a member of the Lebanon Valley College baseball team, and is pursuing a bachelor of arts in exploratory at The Valley.
The academic honor roll is comprised of student-athletes who compete in a varsity-level sport and registered a term/semester GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher.
The MAC honored more than 3,500 total student-athletes across all of the conference’s institutions who competed in winter and spring sports.
